Position Summary
The Clinical Research Associate contributes to a Clinical Research study within the Professional Development Department. This position performs standardized data collection, conducts interviews with patients and family members, and reviews medical records to collect key study outcomes. The Clinical Research Associate reports directly to the Project Manager/Program Director and Primary Investigator.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job
1. Complete standardized baseline interviews and assessments, in-person and via telephone, to patients and family caregivers (training provided).
2. Ensure timely data entry into REDCap database.
3. Manage study database including data cleaning and query completion as needed.
4. Identify and document protocol deviations and adverse event reporting.
5. Work independently with minimal supervision to maintain and preserve study blinding.
6. Ability to be at work and be on time.
7. Ability to follow company policies, procedures and directives.
8. Ability to interact in a positive and constructive manner.
9. Ability to prioritize and multitask.
*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. Qualifications
Qualifications/Work Experience:
• Highly professional demeanor and positive attitude.
• Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work successfully while meeting competing deadlines.
• Experience working within policies and procedures.
• Prior research experience involving human participants is preferred.
• Experience working with older patient populations and their families.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to prioritize and exercise good judgment.
• Excellent attendance and strong work ethic in past settings.
Education/Licensure/Certification:
• Associate degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Degree in Health Science preferred or an equivalent combination of related education and experience is required.
• An understanding of medical terminology and experience in a large complex health care setting preferred.
• Knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft Office applications required.
