The purpose of the position is to develop, implement and support primary care patient centered medical home based behavioral health services in order to facilitate more effective management of a range of chronic medical conditions such as diabetes, depression, obesity, and hypertension. Incumbent will serve as the Primary Care Behavorial Health Consultant to all outpatient depts of the hospital.Qualifications: To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying.

You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
BASIC REQUIREMENT(S):
Degree: major or equivalent in psychology for all specializations except clinical psychology. This specialization has additional educational requirements, as stated below:
- Clinical Psychology: For this position at grades GS-11 and above, satisfactory completion of all the requirements for the doctoral program (Ph. D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology is required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
- Applying professional psychological techniques in a primary care setting that includes motivational interviewing, problem-solving treatment, and relapse prevention to establish well-being for patients.
- Integrating a broad variety of theoretical perspectives, such as play therapy with children and group therapy, and develop treatment plans according to psychotherapeutic and theoretical perspectives.
- Consulting with professional medical staff regarding adolescent patients in evaluating and treating psychological disorders.
- Serving as consultant for adolescent mental health issues to diagnose and treat adolescent patients on a variety of disorders.
Selective Placement Factor: Must possess an active, current, unrestricted license in Clinical Psychology from any U. S. State.
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
