Responsibilities
  • Supervise Royalty Analyst & direct the Royalty Analysis team in Chennai, India
  • Primary contact for royalty information and research for clients
    • Researching statements
    • Portal access
    • Preparation of Commission schedules for management
  • Facilitate registration of music content for:
    • Various royalty entities (BMI, ASCAP, SoundExchange, etc.)
  • Leverage Curve Royalty System for select clientele as part of Label Administration service
  • Support Business Management staff and Partners in the understanding of music royalties
  • Prepare management commission schedules as needed
  • Review contracts and payee setup in the royalty system
  • Review and analyze sales data before interfacing with the royalty system
  • Review and apply contract terms to advance & royalty payments, manage payment requests, extract & interface data relevant to royalty & support systems, and prepare calculations support and analysis
  • Post expenses/fees/deductions to the royalty system
  • Complete initial and subsequent reviews of royalty statements to ensure accuracy
  • Distribute statements to Business Managers and Account Managers for review
  • Prepare manual adjustments and statements when required
  • Interact with record labels, publishers, and PROs to resolve issues
  • Process new contracts and amendments regularly.
  • Handle statement recipients' inquiries and requests
  • Prepare ad hoc reports/analyses as needed
Qualifications
  • Minimum Education Requirement- Bachelor's Degree with major in Accounting
    • Master's Degree highly preferred
    • 5+ years of experience with royalty contracts, statement preparation, and accounting
    • Music Royalty (Artist and Mechanical) experience preferred
    • Proficiency with the Curve royalty platform is a plus
  • Must be detail-oriented, analytical, and exercise good judgment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel, databases, and system queries
  • Excellent organizational skills. Effectively manages change, delays, and unexpected events
  • Focuses on problem resolution
  • Able to manage high volumes of data, meet deadlines, and multi-task
  • Meets challenges with resourcefulness
  • Motivated, and disciplined, with high personal and professional standards of integrity and ethics
