Job description

The Clinical Transformation department focuses on the advancement of Gillette’s clinical model through clinical practice excellence. This includes, but is not limited to, overseeing the translation, implementation, analysis, and dissemination of both existing evidence and new knowledge into clinical practice. The Clinical Program Coordinator for Spine works as a cooperative member of a triad, responsible for the clinical elements required for achieving and maintaining advanced certification.

This position is a hybrid role, requiring 1-day onsite and flexibility to come onsite as needed is required. The office location is downtown St. Paul, MN. Relocation to the area would be required if the selected candidate resides outside of driving distance upon hire. 

Compensation and Benefits 

The annual salary range for this opportunity is $91,062/annually to $136,593/annually, with a median salary of $113,828/annually. Pay is dependent on several factors including relevant work experience and internal equity. Salary is just one component of the compensation package for employees. Core Responsibilities

  • Standardized, evidence-based care pathways
    • Collaborates with triad leadership, providing clinical insight, to define and ensure optimal, evidence-based care pathways for spine patients and their families. This includes collaborating with providers and other services during the pre-operative, intra-operative and post-operative phases of spine surgical care.
    • Coordinates with nurse managers for the supervision and evaluation of nursing care for patients within the scope of the program.
  • Education
    • Coordinates the development and provision of spine patient education materials and modalities.
    • Collaborates with the certification committee and education specialists to develop a comprehensive annual education plan and expectations for all staff identified in the spine care pathway.
    • Participates in the development of program and education plan evaluations.
    • Participates in at least eight hours of continuing education related to evidence-based practice in pediatric spine management on an annual basis.
  • Data
    • Contributes to the development of key performance metrics and a quality dashboard.
    • Collects and monitors data for key performance measures and the spine program registry.
    • Participates in analyzing data and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Active Engagement 
    • Collaborates with the triad leadership to ensure coordination of efforts.
    • Is actively involved in committees and meetings related to advanced certification efforts (e.g., spine conference, spine morbidity and mortality conference, SPIPS).
    • Participates in marketing related activities for the Spine Institute (e.g., conference presentations, publications).

 

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
  • Current RN license through the MN Board of Nursing.
  • Clinical orthopedic experience within the last 5 years.
  • Clinical knowledge, skill set, and ability to manage and implement evidence-based processes and practice changes.
  • Ability to track, analyze, and implement changes based on clinical data.
  • Willingness to participate in continuing education related to evidenced-based practice in orthopedic and/or spine surgery management on an annual basis.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to collect and analyze clinical data.
  • Ability to lead clinical quality improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to manage and implement processes based on evidence-based practice.
  • Ability to serve as an internal and external representative of Gillette’s Spine Institute.
  • Flexible, organized and attention to detail.
  • Excellent critical thinking and communication skills.

Preferred

  • Evidence of evidence-based practice and implementation of science training.
  • Evidence of experience analyzing clinical data.
  • Informatics training and experience.
