Department Profile
The Pharmacy Department provides services to patients cared for at Tampa General Hospital and Tampa General Medical Group. Services provided include clinical and distributive services to in-house patients, outpatient and specialty prescriptions, infusion center, and ambulatory clinical services. The department is composed of approximately 300 team members, including pharmacists, technicians, and support staff. Pharmacy team members have backgrounds that represent a diverse mix of experiences, training, and certifications in multiple areas of pharmacy. The Department of Pharmacy offers accredited residency training programs, is affiliated with pharmacy schools in the State of Florida, and technical training programs within the Tampa Bay area.
Job Summary
Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, responsible for accurate and efficient practice of pharmacy, including general clinical pharmacy services to patients, nurses and medical staff. Participates in Pharmacotherapy Consult service, staff development and education, and targeted drug programs. Assesses the age-specific needs of patients served while monitoring patient medication use and processing medication orders. Able to perform all of the duties of a registered Pharmacist. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital.
Required Skills
B.S. degree in Pharmacy with residency or Pharm D degree from accredited College of Pharmacy. Current licensure as a Registered Pharmacist in the state of Florida.
