Who We Serve
Pacific Clinics serves children, transitional age youth, families, adults, and older adults. We offer a full range of mental and behavioral health services, foster care and social services, housing, continuing adult education and early childhood education programs to Medi-Cal eligible individuals and families throughout Alameda, Contra Costa, Fresno, Kings, Los Angeles, Madera, Orange, Placer, Riverside, Sacramento, San Bernardino, San Francisco, Santa Clara, Solano, Stanislaus, Stockton, Tulare and Ventura Counties.
About our Program
Duration of position:8/5/24 and ends on 6/30/25
Program Type: Outpatient
Population Served: Clients 6-26 and their families.
This position offers second year graduate students an opportunity to fulfill their practicum requirements for their universities by obtaining internship experience with our Outpatient team. We provide individual, family, and group therapy, as well as parent coaching, and case management to clients ages 6-26 years old. Clinical Interns will receive individual supervision, group supervision, weekly didactics, additional access to trainings, as well as be assigned a mentor. This internship prepares one to work in the community mental health field. Presenting issues that one will expect to work with include: trauma (sexual abuse, immigration, physical, emotional, IPV, etc.), Depression/Anxiety, Bipolar, Psychosis, ADHD, and Behavioral Diagnosis.

JOB SUMMARY:
Duration of position: Starts on 8/5/24 and ends on 6/30/25
Shifts: 9am to 6pm, 10am to 7pm. (24 hours a week.)
Program Type: Outpatient/ Family Therapeutic Services
Under close supervision, incumbents build and maintain a caseload typically of four to eight clients. Participates in group therapy sessions, attend weekly supervision, and intern training and/or clinical case consultations.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
1. Build and maintain an active caseload of a minimum of four to six clients.
2. Serve as a co-facilitator in one or more weekly group therapy sessions at an Agency service site.
3. Attend one-hour individual supervision and two-hour group supervision per week.
4. Attend one 2 hour intern training or clinical case consultation per week.
5. Actively participates in agency training opportunities as appropriate.
6. Complete agency and County required documentation as required within applicable time lines.
7. Conform to all legal and ethical standards applicable to psychotherapy or counseling providers as required by state law, agency requirements and the profession.
8. Other related responsibilities, as assigned, to support specific department/business needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor of Arts/Science (B.A./B.S.) in Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work or Psychology.
• One (1) year of related experience or training in an accredited Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, or Psychology graduate program.
• Current enrollment in a Masters or Doctoral program in Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work or Psychology.
• Authorization from the intern’s college or university to begin a trainee assignment, practicum or internship at Agency.
• Actively working to fulfill hours towards licensure if on the MFT track. (By regulation, MSW graduate students are not eligible to earn hours toward BBS licensure).
POST GRADUATE
• Trainees have completed all requirements and possess a degree as described above.
