damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas and medical errors, etc,
Job Qualifications/Education/Training/Certification/Licensure
BS/BSN required,
MA/MS/M,
ED degree in Nursing or related health field,
If Masters is non-nursing BSN preferred,
Current license as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of New Jersey,
Current National certification in specialty preferred,
Certification in BLS through American Heart Association,
Minimum of three years current experience in areas of specialization required,
One-year experience with demonstrated leadership/management required,
Minimum of one-year education, teaching, preceptor or other experience preferred,
Job Specific Requirements
Collaborates with the patient, family and other health care providers in achieving optimal patient outcomes,
Completes assessment of competency skills on all staff on an annual basis,
Consults with the staff nurse, Clinical Directors, physicians, administrators, other professionals and health care agencies on practice related issues, as appropriate,
Contributes to performance evaluations of nursing staff as appropriate,
Coordinates & facilitates nursing orientation in collaboration with Clinical Director, orientee and preceptor,
Coordinates and participates in general nursing education programs, i,
e,
orientation,
Develops and conducts educational programs based on skills, knowledge base and educational needs of the nursing staff, patients and families,
Develops nursing standards of practice, standards of patient care and policies and procedures with staff registered nurses,
Assist with implementation through education,
Enhances own professional growth and development through continuing education, independent study and participation in professional organizations,
Other duties as assigned by Director,
Participates in decision-making, planning and problem-solving operations of Patient Care Services in general through committee membership and ad hoc task forces,
Participates in the Performance Improvement Process in the specialty by recognizing clinical problems and seeking out solutions or making appropriate follow up referrals,
Provides Basic Life Support instruction to staff and families,
Provides clinical support to staff based on unit needs,
Uses advanced knowledge, clinical decision making and skills to address complex issues in area of expertise,
Utilizes, facilitates and/or participates in nursing research and disseminates findings to health care providers,
Unit/Dept Specific Competencies
Addresses complex patient care problems using advanced knowledge and decision- making skills in specialty areas and in response to PI issues,
Attends two continuing education offering per year,
Committee memberships as assigned,
Demonstrates involvement in nursing research in specialty area as assigned,
Facilitates development of standards, protocols, policies and procedures related to specialty area,
Provides education to staff based on learning needs and evaluates effectiveness,
Responds appropriately and in a timely manner to consultation from individuals on practice related issues,
