Position Information

Position Title Instructor- Certified Clinical Medial Assistant (CCMA) - Part Time Campus Elizabeth/Plainfield Department Center Economic & Workforce Development Full-time, Part-time, Adjunct Part Time Exempt or Non-Exempt Non-Exempt Regular,Temporary, or Grant Temporary General Description
The Certified Clinical Medical Assistant ( CCMA) Instructor will be responsible for providing classroom instruction in administrative and clinical courses for the Medical Assistant program. Prepares the student for employment as a Medical Assistant and to pass the CCMA, CPT, and the CET National Healthcareer Association's exams. In conjunction with staff members, perform instruction and reporting requirements as specified by the Director. This is a part-time position and reports to the Program Director. Off campus work within Union County may be required.
Characteristics, Duties, and Responsibilities
Provide Medical Assisting instruction to students utilizing the established curriculum provided by Union College.
Communicate class content to the students so that learning occurs, skills are developed, and students are motivated to learn and achieve their training objectives.
Prepare and enter grades in CEWD database Participation Evaluation Reports PERS upon notification of readiness.
Conduct required assessments.
Respond to program requests.
Assist in maintaining and monitoring equipment and consumable supplies.
Accept all other assignments which will help CEWD realize contractual goals.
Travel to all campuses where program is offered as needed.
Other duties assigned by the Director and CEWD administration.
Maintain daily attendance.
Ability to teach remote live if needed. 
Education Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent required, Associates degree in healthcare field preferred.
Current Certified or Registered Medical Assistant Certificate required.
Experience
Minimum requirement 3 years of Medical Assisting.
Teaching experience, preferred, but not required
Knowledge of Medical Assistant theory, practice, and trends.
Competencies and Skills Required
Interpersonal, organization and communication skills required.
Proficiency with MS office products including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent customer service, oral and written communication skills, including ability to communicate effectively with a diverse external community and a diverse campus community.
Valid driver's license and access to an automobile.
Must possess strong interpersonal skills to interact tactfully and courteously with students, the general public, faculty, and other staff members.
Ability to collaborate with others.
Ability to multi-task in a busy environment.
Ability to meet deadlines.
Flexibility of schedule.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
This position's duties are normally performed in a typical interior/residence work environment, based on the activity scheduled.
Some physical effort required; however, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
Some travel required.
