Clinical Ehr Data Analyst

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Clinical EHR Data Analyst/Support position provides quality support for employees and operational leadership with a high degree of customer satisfaction.

This position will be responsible for developing, implementing, monitoring, and updating EHR training materials to ensure providers and support staff have the skills and education needed. This role ensures the effective use of the software across programs, billing, and management to fulfill the organization’s business needs.

This position provides the full range of day-to-day support for the Inpatient and Outpatient departments including ongoing upgrades and data quality.

ESSENTIALS DUTIES:

• Serve as the primary point of contact for the agency wide utilization of the agency’s electronic health record system(s).
• Work collaboratively with agency leadership to train direct service staff and to ensure technical aspects of the EHR are in alignment with clinical goals and business needs.
• Provide ongoing support to the Finance and Program teams with new funding sources/contracts and rate changes.
• Develop EHR functionality Policy and Procedures; ensure integration with Operations and Finance policy and procedures.
• Support all users of application systems, timely implementation of ongoing maintenance, enhanced user productivity, and facilitate the management of user expectations.
• Educate and guide end-users in software functionality and configurations.
• Develop trainings and materials and provide trainings to support user skill development and workflow improvements.
• Ensure requirements are met throughout the systems development life cycle.
• Coordinates development and maintenance of implementation and conversion plans, including training and test plans.
• Coordinates and collaborates the Information Technology Department to monitor systems compliance and potential IT changes affecting the operational capabilities of agency staff.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

• 2-3+ years of behavioral health electronic medical health systems experience.
• Experience with Los Angeles County Department Mental Health service delivery including billing and revenue.
• Ability to simplify technical language for lay audiences during staff trainings and troubleshooting sessions.
• Ability to identify, resolve and/or avert potential problems.
• Ability to meet critical deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Creativity and analytical ability to solve problems in a variety of situations, roles, environments.
• Ability to work independently, organize work efficiently, attention to detail, and able to prioritize responses to changing business needs.
• Preferred:  experience with Netsmart and Clinitrak.

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATES

Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in the field of Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field with a minimum of 2 years of experience in information systems analysis and design in a healthcare service provider capacity. If a degree has not been attained matching the qualifications stated above, a minimum of 5 years of direct EHR systems administration experience is required in the capacity of a specialist, analyst, or coordinator.

REQUIREMENTS

• Must pass Department of Justice (DOJ), Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), and Community Care Licensing (CCL) background clearance.
• Valid California Driver’s license.
• TB clearance.
• Driving record acceptable for coverage by Gateways insurance carrier.
• Fire and Safety Training*.
• First Aid Training Certification*.
• CPR Certification*.

* Note: If indicated certifications/licenses are lacking, they must be obtained within 180 days of hire.

**Training needs to be completed within 30 days from the date of hire on a designated date provided by on-boarding.  Staff need to be certified at the commensurate level for their role to perform their job duties (staff will be taken off the schedule if certification is not achieved).
