General & Special Education - Social/Emotional Learning Project
LOCATION: TBD - K-3 and grade 6
QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Masters degree in Special Education, Applied Behavior Analysis, or a related field (Social worker, Psychologist) with extensive Positive Behavior Support experience.
  2. Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) preferred.
  3. Applicants with a strong background in applying principles of ABA are preferred.
  4. Minimum of 2 years experience working in educational field.
  5. Must be proficient in the use of office technology, equipment, and procedures including Microsoft Office, Gmail, Google Docs, and the internet.
  6. Possess strong assessment and organizational skills.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
  1. Complete social emotional learning assessments.
  2. Create individual plans based on student need.
  3. Implement individual and small group lessons focusing on social/emotional skills.
  4. Evaluates the effectiveness of the implemented behavioral intervention and SEL plans, and may modify or change to achieve desired results.
  5. Identifies factors in the environment or behavior that lead to patterns in behavior.
  6. Assists teachers in identifying needs of students and formulating support plans to manage problematic behaviors and social/emotional needs.
  7. Collaborates with staff to monitor the progress of students to determine how to best address long-term individual goals.
  8. Assesses the needs of the student, set goals and make behavior plans for teaching these skills and reinforcing new behaviors as they are learned.
  9. Demonstrates successful track record of working independently while taking on increased or diverse responsibilities.
  10. Demonstrates strong communication skills.
  11. Develops and implements behavior programming (skill acquisition and replacement behavior skills) while ensuring linkage with support plan goals for individuals
  12. Ensures completion of Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans.
  13. Promotes programs to enhance and increase student's independence.
  14. Participates in and model the delivery of routine, daily behavior management of students and assume the lead role in behavior crisis management as needed.
  15. Collects, records, interprets, and monitors data on student behaviors and progress on behavior programming.
  16. Completes service logs to substantiate implementation and support plans as needed.
  17. Experience in working with ABA strategies and knowing behavioral techniques.
  18. Participates with the District Support Team to build capacity in collecting data for functional behavior assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans.
  19. Develops and provides professional development for behavioral analysis and implementation for the district.
  20. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

EVALUATION: Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's Policy on Evaluation of Certificated Personnel.
START DATE: As soon as possible.

The employee is directly responsible for safety, well-being, or work output of other people. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as to read handwritten or typed material, and the ability to adjust focus.

The fingerprinting is conducted by a third party and is at the expense of the applicant. Cost for fingerprinting is approximately $70.00.
