Form of workUW Medical Center - Montlake has an outstanding opportunity for a Health Services Manager to lead our Outpatient Psychiatry and Headache Clinics. The Health Services Manager is a Level 1 position, reporting jointly to our Level 3 Health Services Manager and to our Assistant Administrator for Ambulatory Care.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
Our Headache Clinic treats migraines, cluster headaches, and similar conditions linked to chronic pain. The Health Services Manager will work alongside an acclaimed team of providers, including one of the only board-certified headache specialists in Washington State.
Our Outpatient Psychiatry Clinic treats patients with depression, anxiety, PTSD, and insomnia. The clinic also provides specialized services, including preconception counseling and support for patients receiving psychiatric treatment while pregnant or lactating. The clinic is a primary training site for PSYCHIATRY AND psychology residents.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Directs and oversees the day-to-day and strategic operations of both clinics
Manages an estimated 14 employees (clinical and non-clinical)
Works in partnership with our providers and Medical Directors
Provides daily staffing coverage and assignments for the clinics and the patient care roles
Reviews and manages patient access in the forms of phone service, referral management, and appointment scheduling
Develops and assesses employee skills, monitors and manages employee performance, and completes timekeeping responsibilities
Acts as an expert resource when staff encounter problems or questions
Takes corrective action when employee performance is not acceptable
Plans and implements programs to meet targeted patient volumes
Oversees quality assurance and safety standards
Works to continually improve the quality of our services, in alignment with UW Medicine pillar goals
Works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure program priorities, performance and outcome measures, and regulatory requirements are met
Ensures that the unit operates in a cost-effective manner for UW Medicine
REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
3 years of lead or supervisory work experience in an outpatient healthcare setting
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field; or equivalent education/experience
Knowledge of the Department of Health, The Joint Commission, and other regulatory healthcare groups
Proficiency in the Epic EHR system
