Location: Covington Support - 109 Northpark Blvd., Covington, LA 70433

Job Summary:

Technician focused on keeping a fleet of 5,000 desktops/laptops Windows 10, and Windows 11 fully up to date on all patches. This includes Microsoft updates (Windows, Office, Visio, Project, Teams, OneDrive, etc.) for builds that are still covered by Microsoft support as well as upgrading Windows/Office builds where support has expired. It also includes patches for non-Microsoft software (3rdparty) installed on client machines such as Adobe Acrobat, Google Chrome, Citrix Workspace, TeamViewer, etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with Windows clients that prevent them from patching/upgrading automatically
  • Repair/upgrade the Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) client which is used for automation of all patches
  • Manually install patches/operating system upgrades for clients where the automation fails and cannot be repaired
  • Manually wiping and reimaging clients that are unable to be patched/upgraded
  • Provide reporting to management on client patch level

Requirements:

  • 5 years' experience troubleshooting and resolving technical issues with Windows PCs
  • Extensive knowledge of Windows client operating systems (Windows 10 Enterprise, Windows 10 LTSC)
  • Experience with PowerShell having the ability to write new scripts and modify existing ones
  • Working Knowledge of Active Directory and related technologies
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills including telephone etiquette
  • Strong initiative, decisiveness, and ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Strong desire to learn new technologies
  • Strong ability to follow documented policies, procedures and workflows
  • MCP or MCSE qualification a plus
  • Intune and/or SCCM knowledge a plus
