Job description

PRIMARY PURPOSE: Support CBC team members and credit union membership through programming innovations. Analyze, build, and edit programs and processes to ensure credit union team and membership receive superior treatment and experiences. Resolve issues as they arise through analysis, development, process updates, superior service, and planned work management.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Practice CBC core values:

    • Make It Easy-CBC pledges to provide easy financial solutions, convenient locations, efficient service and simplified processes
    • Make It Personal-CBC pledges to nurture deep, personal relationships with members, based on their individual needs and preferences
  • Support the installation and monitoring of all software/application upgrades/releases.
  • Support daily and month-end processing transactions within core system (payroll distributions, electronic fund transfers such as ACH returns, draft returns, check posts,etc) and automation environments.
  • Responsible to follow the change control policies for all programs and processes including, but not limited to: Symitar programs (on-demand, Symitar, batch), Symitar job files, OpCon jobs, scripts, configuration changes, systems updates, and rollouts.
  • Responsible for independently tracking, updating, and completing tickets and planned work tasks in appropriate systems
  • Support with administering and assisting systems security for applications platform as indicated in our policies and procedures of the Information Security
  • Support agile methodologies in department by being lead in planning, backlog grooming, and review sessions.
  • Participate in risk assessments and access control
  • Support administering group and user privileges for all staff requiring access to our core system and third-party
  • Participate in review, and maintaining our procedures described in the Information Security Program.
  • Responsible for documenting programs and processes for easy reference understanding of outside IT personnel.
  • Review program specifications to gain deeper understanding of performance expectations and translate into programming requirements.
  • Implement and reinforce programming best practices for all programs created, edited, and reviewed.
  • Independent work management.
  • Provide management support with Programming team.
  • Organize meetings, with an agenda, and lead to represent IT team.
  • Expert support, ability to provide an expert level of interaction with a wide range of customers and technical issues in relation to CBC and third-party vendor written software programs and processes.
  • Ability to write and maintain highly complex level programming code, including but not limited to third party programs in the proprietary language of PowerOn as well as outside languages of Java, Python, PowerShell, and SQL queries.
  • Responsible as a lead for guiding a group of employees in corporate or DevOps internal
  • Participate in planning stages of corporate and DevOps internal projects to analyze needed tasks and provide estimates. Design and create user stories and work plans for tasks identified.
  • Serve as mentor and trainer to newer team members and assist in development milestones for other team members
  • Provide leadership, training, and professional development to Programmer/Analysts assigned to their projects.
  • Perform analysis of work items to build work plans including working with outside sources to accomplish if necessary
  • High level analytical skills to breakdown issues and form resolution steps
  • Perform other duties as

  • Should have working knowledge of financial industry IT regulations. Understand, support, and follow policies and procedures contained in the Information Security Program IT Handbook.

  • Knowledge of network infrastructure, Microsoft tools and services, and computer troubleshooting.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Associate's degree (A.A.) in a related field of study OR equivalent educational combination and five to eight years of experience. Proven excellence with Symitar's proprietary language PowerOn for complex programs. Experience in creating complex programs in Java, Python, C+, C#, C++, JavaScript or other programming languages. Experience working with SQL and creating processes to generate data files, perform queries to extract wanted report or data, and dashboard integration. Proven excellence in service management support of issue resolution


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position is of light physical activity performing non-strenuous daily tasks of a productive/technical nature. Requires the ability to frequently sit and frequently use both hands for fine manipulation. Occasionally requires the ability to walk, stand, bend neck and waist, squat, climb, kneel and crawl. Occasionally required to lift up to 75 pounds and occasional required to carry up to 25 pounds. The heaviest item required to be carried, for up to 3 feet, would be a UPS battery system. Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, work with the fingers and perceives attributes of objects and materials. Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less).


WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work area is a well-lighted, air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation. The noise level is moderate. There is an occasional risk of electrical shock.


WORK SCHEDULE:
Workweek will be 40 hours with some overtime as needed. Occasional attendance at meetings before or after scheduled hours may be required. Management reserves the right to change any employee's work schedule to meet the operational needs of the Credit Union. Furthermore, management reserves the right to reassign any employee, either temporarily or permanently, to work at another credit union location.


TRAVEL:
Branch to branch travel (up to 10%). Minimal overnight travel (up to 10%) by land and/or air.
