Where We're Located: The SPD Black River Falls Trial Office is located at 438 N Water St, Black River Falls, WI 54615.
This Project Position has been authorized and the anticipated end date of this position is December 31, 2024. Project positions are eligible for benefits, including health insurance, but the incumbent does not attain permanent civil service status. Candidates chosen for these Project Positions may be considered for permanent positions in the near future if any permanent positions become available.
Position Summary
The Client Services Specialist (CSS-Obj.) informs the client and the representing attorney of the available sentencing options and treatment services available to them. This position involves extensive travel, which may involve the client's home, a juvenile or mental health facility, jail and/or prison visits to clients, their family members or other witnesses. These positions will focus on finding treatment solutions for clients, including assessing and evaluating clients for community-based options.

Salary Information
The starting salary for the CSS-Obj. will be between $23.00 and $31.42/hour and is in pay schedule-range (12-64). Salary will depend on experience and qualifications and will be based on rules that apply in the current compensation plan. A one-year probationary period is required.
Permanent classified state employees who are eligible for consideration (transfer, voluntary demotion, or reinstatement) for a position assigned to the stated pay range or counter-part pay range, should complete the application process as described above by the stated deadline.
Final selected candidates may be eligible for moving expense reimbursement to relocate to the place of employment.
Job Details
Background Check : We consider all qualified applicants with criminal histories, consistent with applicable federal, state and local law. A criminal background check will be done prior to an offer of employment.
Eligibility to work in the US: The SPD does not sponsor work visas at the time of hire or anytime during employment. All persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and complete the required Employment Eligibility Form I-9.
Valid License: A valid WI driver's license and the ability/authorization to drive a state vehicle is required as a condition of employment.
Travel: Travel to other counties in Wisconsin may be required. Mileage will be reimbursed following the State statutes.
Remote Work: This position is eligible for some remote work. Home internet connection is required to remotely connect to work systems. Computer hardware will be provided for remote work. Remote work opportunities will not be available until after the training period has been completed.
Qualifications
LETTER OF QUALIFICATIONS & RESUME: You must submit both documents in order to be considered. It is importation that you clearly explain and elaborate on your experience and/or training in your letter of qualifications and/or resume.
Minimum Qualifications (Required - Candidates must have experience and/or training relevant to these areas in order to be considered for this position):
1) Interviewing and gathering information from people of all ages and backgrounds
2) Developing treatment proposals by identifying community resources available (e.g. AODA, mental health and/or counseling programs, etc.)
A Well Qualified Candidate will also have experience and/or training in the following areas:
1) Working with the adult criminal and/or juvenile justice systems
2) Communicating with diverse clientele (e.g. mental health, addiction, poverty, criminal background, etc.)
