JOB DESCRIPTION:
•Maintain records for student attendance, check outs, etc.
•Determines appropriate processes for documenting absences in system for school and district level documentation
•Supports office staff in answering phones, greeting guests, and working with students to properly admit and document the attendance for enrollment purposes
•Maintains accurate records of parent notification of absence and tardies
•Alerts principal and school counselor of excessive tardies and/or absences
•Maintains prompt and regular attendance
•Performs other duties as assigned
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION OR TRAINING: Minimum of high school diploma or GED; Strong organization skills; Strong computer skills - entry, database, spreadsheets; Excellent communications skills - oral and written; Customer service orientation in communicating with all stakeholders in person and on the phone.
SKILLS: Treats confidential information and sensitive situations with discretion; Ability to work in a hectic environment; Presents a professional image when representing BCSS through word, action and dress; Physical activities required to perform all job duties to include standing and/or sitting for long periods of time.
EXPERIENCE: Previous secretarial experience preferred.
