Job Summary
The Clerk performs administrative, clerical support services to ensure efficient department operations including the maintenance of financial, personnel another official department records. Employee is required to perform all similar or related duties.
Essential Job Functions
- Maintain regular and prompt attendance; physically present to work.
- Performs after hours work as required (nights and weekends)
- Assist with emergency response as needed by city hall and local EOC.
- Answers telephones and handles in- person inquiries, service request, complaints and/or directs to appropriate person, department in a helpful, courteous and efficient manners.
- Generates work orders via Accela and ensures they are assigned to the correct Division/ Supervisor and completes them as they are turned in.
- Responsible for the departmental records such as Fuel Reports, Work Orders, and other general correspondence.
- Responsible for Fuel Inventory of fuel pumps located at Public Works to meet the demands of all City units and report troubleshooting as needed.
- Maintains Unit Asset tracking and files, which include purchase information, work orders and Unit Tracking.
- Occasionally monitors the 2-way radio base at Public Works.
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
- Must have High School diploma, or equivalent (GED)
- One (1) to three (3) years of related work experience to perform such job.
- Applicant must pass pre-employment criminal background check and drug screen at City's expense.
- Applicant must have current valid Class "C" Driver's License and be insurable.
- Must successfully complete Emergency Management and Incident Command Training within first three months of hire date.
- Bilingual English/Spanish Preferred.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk.
- Occasional walking, standing, and stooping. Occasional lifting, moving, or positioning objects up to 30lbs.

On a regular basis, employee has access to confidential information including official personnel files and client records.
Employee has regular access at the departmental level to a wide variety of confidential information, including personnel records, client records, criminal investigations, and court records.
Work Environment
The work environment involves everyday discomforts typical of offices, with occasional exposure to outside elements. Noise or physical surroundings may be distracting, but conditions are generally not unpleasant.
