Wage: $19.95/hr. 1st year; $22.25/hr. 2nd year
FLSA: Non-Exempt
JOB SUMMARY:
This position processes coins and currency daily and facilitates transit product sales. The Clerk II-Ticketing & Fare Collection also handles WisGo Cards, WisGo 1Ride Tickets and Transit Plus Books, and verifies that these items are in order and appropriately bundled. This position provides excellent customer service via the Cashier’s window and phone.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Straighten bills, count revenue via counter equipment and strap bills daily.
- Record revenue totals from each station daily. Log amounts on designated forms and within Excel spreadsheet.
- Operate lift truck, forklift and coin sorting equipment. Seal, weigh and load coin bags evenly on skid(s).
- Record coin revenue totals from coin sorting software and generate money room reports.
- Provide excellent customer service by selling passes, tickets, CVCs, Transit Plus etc.
- Properly input all necessary fields within the designated Point-of-Sales system.
- Provide receipt of transactions, conduct refunds and handle phone inquiries.
- Accurately process and verify multiple transactions, including cash, check, credit card, expenses and CRMs received.
- Prepare bulk orders of transit products upon approval.
- Verify passes and ticket stock received from vendors.
- Verify passes in numerical order and bundle in the designated amounts.
- Distribute mail and process Transit Plus ticket orders.
- Maintain office cleanliness, trash removal, organization of immediate count space, coin room and Cashier’s garage area.
- Conduct Preventive Maintenance on all Treasury equipment (Currency Counter, Coin Machine, TVM(s) etc.) and report any issues to Manager.
- Work with Armor Courier Service – sign off for cash pickups and receive/swap TVM equipment.
- Responsible for handling all inquiries relating to MCTS fare structure (via phone and in-person).
- Process MCTS Online Shopify Orders (WisGo & Transit Plus).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Wisconsin Driver’s License and proof of insurance required.
- General cash handling experience and mechanical skills preferred.
- Must pass pre-employment skill assessment test(s).
- Must pass a Pre-placement Functional Test (PPFT) as it relates to the physical requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this job.

MENTAL/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK CONDITIONS:
- Must be able to lift 75 lbs. from a standing position from the ground to shoulder height and 50 lbs. from a standing position from shoulder height to above the head.
- Ability to lift bags, cash bins and boxes weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to effectively provide both oral and written communication requiring good verbal expression, satisfactory hearing and eyesight, clarity enough to read.
- Must have good finger and manual dexterity.
- Ability to stand, sit, climb, stoop, bead and reach above shoulders occasionally.
