SalaryOverview:
Norman Regional’s Gastroenterology clinic is looking for someone with great organizational and multi-tasking abilities to serve as an office clerk at GI of Norman. This established practice is home to 5 physicians and 4 advanced practice practitioners.
Responsibilities: - Provides excellent service to patients and visitors and quality support to physicians and other clinic staff.
- Registers patients, knowledge of insurance plans and ability to read insurance cards, verifies and enters accurate information, collects patient payments, answers multiple phone lines, schedules appointments, and performs various clerical duties.
- Must have 6 months experience in the healthcare field, excellent communication skills, some knowledge of Word and Outlook, good data entry/typing skills and a strong ability to multi-task.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Computer knowledge required.
- Prefer additional education in medical terminology, electronic medical record training, or business classes.
Experience
- One-year clerical experience and healthcare experience are required.
- Prefer medical office, insurance, hospital or computer experience. Accurate keyboard skills.
- Expertise in customer relations, telephone skills and computer applications.
- Prefer at least one year experience in a clinical or physician-office setting, emergency room and/or a hospital setting that provides patient care.
- Experience in office clerical activities desirable.

Compensation/Benefits
- $13.74 - $22.44/hr depending on previous work experience.
