What a typical day as a Accounting Clerk I.might look like:
Responsibilities:
l Perform monthly closing activities including journal entries, accruals, reporting and analysis.
l Reconcile balance sheet accounts and recommend necessary adjustments
l Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, company policy, approval authority matrix and standard operating procedure
l Support internal and external audit requirements
l Exercise sound data stewardship following data policies (retention, privacy, security) and detailing procedures
l Drive continuous improvement and use systems to increase controls and efficiencies
l Ensure effective data security and controls within ERP, financial systems, and data flows
l Other ad hoc requests as necessary
This job might be an outstanding fit if you:
Qualifications:
l An undergraduate degree in Business, Finance or Accounting (required)
l Prior experience in a high-volume accounting environment (AR & AP emphasis a plus) within a matrixed organization.
l Working knowledge of ERPs required, specific experience with Oracle R12 preferred
l Proficient in Microsoft Excel (required)
l Excellent understanding of financial accounting standards and internal controls
l Excellent attention to detail, as accuracy is required in performing all aspects of the role
l Highly motivated individual with excellent communication, computer, and organization skills
l Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
