Work Shifts


8 AM - 4 PM

Job Description


Work together to provide comprehensive, personalized care for all New Yorkers and commit to providing a person-centered care environment while exemplifying ICARE values

Provide professional and quality customer service to patients by following the Mandatory Script and policy and procedures utilizing the EPIC system/I CARE

Open patients visit

Accept patient payments of cash, money orders, debit and credit cards.

Issue payment receipts via EPIC Cash Management function.

Reconcile all payments received against receipts issued and prepare daily proof of cash reconciliation report.

Submit daily reconciled cash payments, receipts and reports to department designee for review.

Follow proof of cash reconciliation policy and all other cashier procedures and functions.

Update patient installment agreements and ensure payment amounts are correct.

Supervise the activities of Clericals ll’s and III’s in their work assignments. Conduct training as needed.

MetroCard distribution

Conduct patient interviews to obtain identifying information, such as demographic, biographic and insurance status. Information is entered accurately, into EPIC (Pre-registration of patients).

Ensure Medical form (MSQ11) is placed in the appropriate provider's mail box for completion

Scan patient ID, insurance card(s), referral forms (if applicable) and consent forms obtained from the patient into document imaging system.

Assist in the proper handling of patients' protected health information to ensure HIPAA compliance; maintain tidy work area, provide clerical coverage as needed

Responsible for maintaining standards of Cultural Competency and Network Customer Service

Reviews and verifies accuracy of recorded data within billing systems as needed

Perform in-dept. interviews with patients, and family to determine patient's ability to pay for services rendered (sliding Fee Scale, H+H options and NYC Care).

Supervisory activities include, but are not limited to, assigning work, scheduling clerical support staff hours, reviewing work of subordinates and ensuring imposed deadlines are met

Work/or maintain EPIC work ques.

Adherence to wearing allocated uniforms.

Evenings/or weekend assignments as needed

Minimum Qualifications


1. A high school diploma or its educational equivalent; and
2. Six (6) months of full-time satisfactory clerical experience and/or experience interacting with the public, such as processing sales; taking, processing, and delivering orders; obtaining and dispensing information; listening to and resolving customers concerns, problems, and complaints; and/or performing related customer service activities.
