Job Summary/Overview:
The Cleans department has the widest scope in the fab. With the largest tool fleet and more steps than any other department, Cleans maintenance technicians control both yield and output for the factory. Successful candidates will be punctual, self-motivated, work well on a variety of different types of equipment and are very detail oriented. Responsible for performing functions associated with all manufacturing and/or system operations, such as working with engineers and manufacturing in set-up and calibration tasks, system support, preventative maintenance, failure analysis, documenting/following standard operating procedures, as well as performing rework and quality testing related to the process and production of memory chips and logic. Uses sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate operating data to conduct in-line adjustments to products, instruments, equipment, or processes. Determines and may assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process. Requires compliance with all health, safety and environmental management system guidelines.
Specific Job Duties:
- Preventative Maintenance (PM)/ Change Point Management (CPM)/ System Maintenance: Follows standard operating procedures to ensure equipment/processes/systems are running effectively. Works around hazardous chemicals while using personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Troubleshooting: Conducts failure analysis, follows scripts to troubleshoot, and anticipate future failures.
- Monitoring Equipment/Process: Monitors equipment and processes in current state and proactively looks for ways to improve processes.
- Teamwork and Communication: Able to work in a team environment and effectively communicate throughout organization.
- Wear clean room suit and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) per the SAS FAB protocol.
- Able to wear a purifying air, supplied air or self-contained breathing apparatus for extended periods of time.
- Work in tight fitting, FAB environment.
- Must be able to lift >50 lbs.
- Able to stand and/or walk for 10+ hrs daily, able to climb stairs.
- May perform repetitive hand and wrist motions and may sometimes have to twist and bend body.
- Vision - Will be exposed to yellow lights, blinking lights.
- Able to discern audible alarms.

Education Training, Certifications and Minimum years of experienced required:
- Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent
- Typically requires 1+ years of related experience since TB1
Skills and Qualifications:
- Has substantial understanding on the job and applies knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks.
- Works on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations.
- Normally receives little instruction on everyday work and general instructions on newly introduced assignments.
