What to Expect What You’ll Bring
The Construction Technician will work closely with suppliers and members of the construction and procurement teams to ensure required rental equipment is ordered, tracked, managed, delivered, and off-loaded. This person will serve as a liaison between suppliers and all Tesla teams on behalf of GFTX construction and will be responsible for sourcing equipment rentals, reviewing equipment rental quotes, understanding equipment specifications, and navigating the internal procurement systems while achieving Tesla cost management and cost saving initiatives.
- Review and coordinate new rental equipment requests from construction teams
- Request rental equipment availability and quotes from Suppliers considering critical need, delivery ETA, rental rate, and mobilization cost to support all GFTX Construction teams
- Coordinate equipment delivery, on-rent inspection, equipment turnover to requestor, off-rent inspection, and equipment pickup
- Coordinate equipment logistics sitewide, intimate knowledge of GFTX building and site footprint
- Track active rentals, including scope assignment, location, cost, and rental duration
- Coordinate, report, and track equipment maintenance, damage, and repairs
- Assist with PO creation, PO maintenance, PO funding tracking, invoice review, and invoice approval
- 5+ years of Procurement, Purchasing, and Accounting experience within commercial or industrial construction industry
- Construction and industrial equipment knowledge
- Inventory management and logistic coordination for owner furnished equipment
- Experience developing systems for tracking inventory
- Comfortable working with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain quotes, tracking, lead times, and manage changes
