What to Expect What You’ll Do What You’ll Bring
As a Tesla CNC Equipment Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the operational availability of a wide array of manufacturing equipment. You will apply your technical skills to install, maintain and repair mechanical and electrical systems, factory automation and robotics. You will work with the highest caliber process and equipment engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and minimize or eliminate downtime
Tesla's CNC Technician is also the first-responding problem solvers who manage machine breakdown recoveries to keep production running. This is a physically demanding job working in tight spaces, requiring walking and standing all day, as well as, bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing ladders and lying on the ground intermittently throughout the day. In addition, the technician may wear a fall protection harness while working from heights or from a suspended position. CNC Technicians will lift up to 50 lbs. and utilize other hand tools and power tools as needed
- Basic tool inventory management, support engineering team with tool quantity and be able to use vending machines.Check and review equipment holders and tool life
- Preventive maintenance activities to all machines, including level checks for either hydraulic, coolant, lubrication, MQL
- External equipment maintenance including filters replacement, conveyors maintenance, chillers and follow the equipment wear and tear
- Navigate HMI screens and machine functionality
- Perform basic CNC offset adjustment in machine compensation program
- Escalate any machine quality issue as soon as possible to engineering
- Machine clamping fixture maintenance, check part seating pads and clamps stroke
- Have the ability to read and check machine drawings electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, lubrication
- Be able to understand machine process
- Be able to understand machine kinematics and jog machine axis to either perform maintenance procedure or troubleshoot
- Follow lockout and safety procedures for the equipment
- Understand hydraulic, pneumatic and lubrication systems
- Know and understand machine fluids and use only the one that is appropriate for each
- Understand basic offset compensation of the machines
