Classroom Aide

The Children's Home of Reading Youth & Family Services is seeking Full- Time Classroom Aidesto assist our amazing teachers working with children in our Internal Education Programs. We have two private academies offering educational services for children who have behavioral issues, varied educational needs, an Individualized Education Plan and are referred by their home school district.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Assist teacher in evaluating pupils’ academic and social growth, keep appropriate records and paperwork, and assist in the preparation of progress reports
• Assist in the creation of functional and organized environment for learning
• prepare bulletin boards and displays as required by the teacher
• Assist teacher in daily preparations for the day, marking papers and keeping accurate records of students’ academic and behavioral performance

Education and Experience:

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High School Diploma or equivalent and one (1) year experience in a classroom or similar setting
• Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students to promote learning.
• Driver's License

Additional Requirements: The candidate must pass required Criminal Record History Clearance, FBI and Child Abuse History Clearance, as well as possess a valid PA driver's license and maintain a good driving record throughout employment. The candidate must pass a pre-employment Physical & Drug Screening & possess the ability to attend and successfully complete all required trainings.
