Center for Autism Research and Educational Services (CARES), located in Downingtown, PA is seeking a Classroom Aide to provide direct behavioral intervention to student. We offer an environment that is supportive, educational and clinically focused. This position will give you the opportunity to work directly with children diagnosed with Autism 1:1 within a structured classroom environment with Special Education Teachers, Behavior Analyst and Autism professionals. You will increase your knowledge and improve your skills related to behavior intervention, functional assessment and collaboration with a team that is inclusive and individualized.CARES serves up to 60 children, ages 5 through 21, with a confirmed primary diagnosis of Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, or Pervasive Developmental Disorder-Not Otherwise Specified (PDD/NOS).
Pay-rate: $16.50 - $18.81 (based upon experience and education)
Shift: 7:30am-3:30pm or 8am-4pm, Monday - Friday (position follows school schedule)
Every day as a Classroom Aide you will:
- Assist in establishing classroom environments that is conducive to maximum learning by maintaining structure and guiding students to socially appropriate behaviors
- Responsible for the children's welfare, safety, and location at all times, including during arrival and dismissal
- Work with the Special Education Teachers to implement skill acquisition and behavioral reduction programs individually and in small groups
- Perform ongoing data collection and record keeping as directed by Special Education Teacher
- Support and reinforce PBIS goals and objectives

Devereux Pennsylvania Children’s Services (DPACS) center serves children, adolescents and young adults with autism spectrum disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, behavioral, emotional and psychiatric challenges and disorders. Located in West Chester and Malvern Pennsylvania, services provided include psychiatric residential treatment (PRTF), residential treatment (RTF), acute inpatient psychiatric hospital (AIP), assessment services, community-based mental health services, community-based employment training and social skills training, and approved private school educational services to male and female children and adolescents (6-21 years of age) with diagnoses of intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, concomitant psychiatric and behavioral challenges often associated with experiencing some level of trauma in their lives.

EDUCATION: High School Diploma required. Associates Degree or completion of two years of post-secondary education from an accredited college or university preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Previous experience working in a special education or behavioral healthcare setting with students with severe/complex behavioral/emotional issues preferred.
