Purpose of Position:
The purpose of this position is to safely, and efficiently perform a variety of duties in relation to the maintenance and repair of the WCSC vehicle fleet and equipment, including but not limited to: lawn mowers, tractors, construction equipment, various implements and outdoor Power Equipment.

- Conduct routine preventative maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, filter replacements, and tune-ups, to ensure the longevity and efficiency of Power Equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with Small Engines, including but not limited to lawn mowers, weed trimmers, and other outdoor Power Equipment.
- Perform detailed inspections to identify worn or damaged components.
- Disassemble and reassemble engines, transmissions, and other components to repair or replace faulty parts.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to identify electronic and mechanical problems in Small Engines.
- Stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and manufacturer specifications for Small Engine equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
- Test repaired equipment to ensure it meets performance standards and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance tasks, and parts.
- Maintain inventory and warranty records of all mowing and Power Equipment.
- Order and pick up parts and supplies.
- Change belts, tires, blades and any other equipment associated with the mowing fleet.
- Sharpen mower blades.
- Remove snow.
- Collect WCSC swimming pool water samples and provide them to the Health Department for weekly examination.
- Assists automotive mechanics with WCSC vehicles and bus fleet as needed.
- Performs other related essential duties as required.
- Substitutes and is on call to substitute or drive buses, as needed.
Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- High School graduate (or equivalent) with two years prior related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience, which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Acceptable driving record
Special Requirements:
- Must possess or obtain a valid Class B Indiana Commercial Driver's License, Indiana State School Bus Committee Standard Certificate (Yellow Card).
- Some computer knowledge and experience required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to physically exert up to one hundred pounds of force occasionally and negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
- Ability to work effectively in a garage environment and an outdoor environment, while being exposed to varying types of weather.
- Ability to pass DOT physical.
- Ability to pass DOT Drug and Alcohol test.
