LOCATION: Pasadena, CA - Hybrid position.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Claims Concierge at EPIC Private Client is responsible for providing well-informed guidance and exceptional client service during the claims process. The Claims Concierge acts as an advocate and partner to EPIC's clients and represents their interests when dealing with carrier partners. This position requires a combination of empathy, compassion, and a keen understanding of insurance contract language. The Claims Concierge works with members of EPIC's Private Client team, as well as claims representatives from carrier partners, independent adjusters, and most importantly, EPIC's clients. This is a full-time exempt position.
RESPONSIBILITES:
- Be a trusted claims advisor and provide exemplary service to our Private Clients.
- Advocate for the client throughout the claims process with an emphasis on communicating regularly with the client, account team and carrier. Assume ownership of client concerns and feedback until a resolution is successfully accomplished.
- Review and research questionable coverage decisions and report Private Client claims denials to account team and management.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with key claims leaders at insurance carriers.
- Identify and analyze claims trends and loss sources for largest clients and submit meaningful recommendations to reduce policyholder loss exposure with input from the account team.
- Occasional site investigations and participation at meetings with clients, insureds, insurers and/or prospects.
- Participate in new business sales opportunities and marketing meetings.
- As needed, attend internal and client facing pre-renewal meetings for largest accounts to discuss claims history.
- Work as a team with other Private Client Relationship Managers and Account Managers, Private Client Associates, Private Client Advisors and EPIC Private Client leadership team.
- Actively participate in thought leadership as EPIC grows and optimizes the Private Client practice.
- Take on additional responsibilities. Manage projects as directed by EPIC Private Client Leadership.
- Comply with all internal procedures and practices while demonstrating the ability to meet performance and quality standards.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, and/ or comparable industry experience.
- Property & Casualty Insurance License in your state of residence (can be obtained within 90 days of hire).
- High Net Worth Claims experience preferred, either with a carrier or broker.
- Working knowledge of computers and relevant software applications, i.e., MS Office, Outlook, etc.
- Sagitta (ATS) and ImageRight experience is preferred.
SKILLS and ABILITIES:
- Possess excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills, including abstract thinking and comparative analysis capabilities.
- Perform significant coverage analysis and author coverage letters.
- Must be able to work independently as well as within a team environment.
- Must be able to travel in and out of state of residence as required.
- Recognize and avoid E&O situations, and advise senior level management of potential and actual E&O claims or situations.
- Demonstrate a sense of urgency when responding to an inquiry.
- Must possess the ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple projects.
- Must possess attention to detail.
- Must be punctual and reliable.
- Must be able to keep information confidential.
The national average salary for this role is $110,000 to $120,000 in base pay and exclusive of any bonuses or benefits. The base pay offered will be determined based on your experience, skills, training, certifications and education, while also considering internal equity and market data.
