For Private Client in Los Angeles, CA. Westwood area.
Private client looking for caregiver to fill the Sunday morning shift (7am - 11am OR 8am- 12am) to care for a paraplegic, large, elderly man With MS And Diabetes.
Experience with this type of client is a must, as is dependability and being on-time.
Day looks like this:
- cooking a lite meal
- changing diaper (he’s large so you must be able to roll him onto his side using a pad w handles) including cleaning
- addressing/cleaning any possible budding bed soars
-emptying catheter
- checking levels of heart rate, glucose (he has diabetes but has a dexcom monitor), and oxygen
- distribution of meds including insulin
- daily grooming
- light physical therapy would be great
- staring any laundry that needs to be washed (washer in our unit)
- prep a lunch to leave
- cleaning any used dishes in kitchen
My mom and I live in the home.
Rate level based on experience
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia, or other special needs
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Administer medications and monitor health conditions as directed by healthcare professionals
- Ensure the safety and well-being of individual under your care
- Plan and engage in recreational activities to promote socialization and mental stimulation
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of care provided
Experience:
- Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is required
- Knowledge of patient care techniques and first aid procedures
- Familiarity with working with individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia
- Experience in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or similar settings is a plus
- Understanding of resident rights and compliance with HIPAA regulations
