This is a travelling position. Generally projects last 6-30 months. Please note THIS IS A TRAVELING POSITION. We work mainly in the upper Midwest.
Responsibilities:
- Oversees and directs construction projects from the pre-job planning stages to completion
- Reviews specifications & construction drawings to determine equipment, material, & staffing requirements for each phase of construction
- Confers and coordinates with supervisory personnel and subcontractors to plan and execute work procedures to prevent delays and ensure compliance to specifications & drawings.
- Guides & directs field employees, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Coordinates with office management to orders tools, materials and equipment to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules; tracks inventory
- Reviews work progress on a daily basis
- Prepares reports pertaining to job status; makes adjustments to work activities as required
- Liaises with project owner, engineer, inspector, etc. to maintain a good working relationship
- Confers with supervisory personnel, engineers, inspectors, suppliers, and subcontractors to resolve problems and improve construction methods
- Develops construction techniques to reduce costs & improve quality
- Creates & manages project schedules (SIS)
- Ensures jobsite safety & compliance to JTJ safety policy
- Onboards field personnel
- Provides expertise and guidance in trade areas, including earthwork, concrete, yard pipe, process pipe, and mechanical/equipment installations
- Other tasks as required
The ideal candidate should have:Field experience in one or more of the areas of heavy concrete, underground pipe, process pipe & mechanical/equipment installations.
- Stable and proven employment history
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- A willingness to travel, we generally work in the upper Midwest including ND, SD, IA, NE, MN etc.
- 2+ years experience in a Superintendent role, preferably Heavy Civil, Industrial or Water/Wastewater

Pay: $100,928.00 - $140,291.00 per year
