Job Summary

 

Create, revise and maintain Computer Aided Drawing and Design (CADD) work associated with contract requirements. Provide technical assistance in construction or revision of maps and charts.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Collect, evaluate, and compile information from source materials in support of asset management tasks including, but not limited to, real property inventories, facility space allocation surveys, and facility conditions assessments.

 

Provide technical assistance in construction or revision of maps, installation Basic Information Guides (BIG), and floorplans. Assist in review and editing of map and chart manuscripts.

 

Obtain reliable measurements of surface features such as elevation, distance, and building dimensions using industry standard techniques and equipment.

 

Assist and conduct field survey of building floor plans and make any changes to the computer-generated floor plans and develop both the gross and net square footage figures for each room. All floor plans layout and data shall be added to the existing building space area dataset.

 

Document and maintain facility floor plans that are consistent with the Air Force S-File Architecture as provided by the government. All CADD floor plans shall be maintained in accordance with the latest A/E/C Standard.

 

Provide CADD drawing creation and update existing utility system files. Create system drawing revisions within ten changes unless otherwise directed.

 

Use drafting tools, techniques, and equipment to make maps and charts. Provide drawing and map reproduction (plotting or printing) when required.

 

Assist engineers create and maintain utility system modeling using CADD and/or GIS software.

 

Assist with creation and maintenance of communications system drawings and configuration.

 

Provide configuration management support for buildings, systems and equipment per contract requirements. Currently listed in Appendix C.

 

Drawings and maps shall audit ready.

 

Use the GIS and A/E/C CAD Standard CADD/GIS Technology Center’s Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure, and the Environment (SDSFIE), the Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC) Content Standard for Digital Geospatial Metadata (CSDGM), and the FGDC National Standard for Spatial Data Accuracy (NSSDA) and will follow guidelines for applying these standards.

 

 

Provide CADD support to engineers as part of the overall Engineering Management Plan (EMP).

 

May be asked to support hurricane preparation and recovery activities.


Requirements

Requires an Associate's degree in Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD).  Equivalent education/experience is applicable.  

Requires five (5) to seven (7) years of directly related to CADD.  Valid FL Driver License.  Must currently possess a security clearance or ability to obtain one. Working knowledge or GIS software (ESRI) desired.

 

Work Environment

 

Standard administrative/office environment. Computers and associated office equipment will be available as required.   Working in a field environment also required.

 

Physical location and workstation space may comply with standards established by the USAF/USSF facility space requirements and may require working close to others. Use of audio equipment may be used without interference to others. Use of headphones or similar equipment may be used if devices do not impair or restrict effectiveness of fire or other safety alarms or notices.

 

Physical Demands: 

 

Field work will be required to investigate new construction/repair project requirements and evaluate/assess existing facility and infrastructure systems.  Walking, standing, & sitting.   Use of stairs is required to access the work environment
