Job Description

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited:

  • Work with a team of Project managers, Water Resources Engineers and GIS specialists in support of FEMA floodplain modeling and mapping studies and other several water resources projects
  • Performs Hydrologic and Hydraulic (H&H) review, modeling and analyses to comply with FEMA guidelines and specifications
  • Perform one-dimensional and two-dimensional floodplain modeling using software applications like HEC-HMS, and HEC-RAS
  • Efficiently work with ArcGIS software in support of floodplain modeling and mapping
  • Prepare project reports, including engineering calculations, research, planning and technical engineering reports
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment
  • Perform assignments requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.

 

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with Water Resources emphasis
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license in TX
  • 4+ years of related experience
  • Must be a US citizen due to the nature of the projects
  • Proficiencies in HEC-RAS 2D & ArcMap

Additional Information

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Water Resources Engineering or a closely related degree
  • Candidates must have proven interpersonal skills, including client interaction, public speaking, strong project financial management along with the ability to lead diverse, multi-disciplined teams.
  • Ability to work productively in a collaborative team environment and demonstrate a desire to learn
  • Time management skills
  • Detail-oriented while still able to understand/comply with the big picture/goals of a project
