Join a company invested in you, your success, and the global community.  We are looking for a driven Civil Engineer to support our team. 
 
As a key member ofour Gainesville FL team, you'll join our collaborative process providing our clients with award-winning planning, engineering, architectural design, construction management, and design-build project delivery. You'll be performing civil design calculations and, preparing site and utility layouts while conforming to design standards for a variety of including site development, water/wastewater facilities, constructed wetlands, environmental remediation, conveyance, ports, roads, etc. This position will also, support senior level engineers to complete planning/study documents, preliminary design, detailed design, permitting documents, and engineering reports.

You'll have the opportunity to coordinate project assignments with other engineers and technicians in multi-discipline group serving a wide range of Client.  You will attend multi-discipline design meetings, interact with clients, and work closely with other Engineers and Civil Technicians.

 Perform civil design tasks related to:

  • Site development and layout 
  • Stormwater and drainage
  • Roadway and pavement alignment
  • Grading 
  • Erosion and sedimentation control
  • Site/facilities layout
  • Utilities and conveyance piping
  • Support conceptual and detailed designs for multi-discipline projects for civil infrastructure /water/wastewater/environmental/transportation
  • Coordinate with other disciplines such as architects, mechanical, structural, electrical and process
  • Assist in the preparation of plans and specifications, engineering reports, engineer's cost estimates, and quantity take-offs 
  • Assist in the Preparation technical documents and reports 
  • Document all calculations, and prepare calculation package 
  • Assist in perform site civil design using CADD tools such as Microstation and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations and details
  • Perform field activities such as observation of construction activities, as required
  • Review construction submittals for conformance to contract and design documents
  • Perform the routine aspects of assignments requiring knowledge and application of engineering principles
  • Work with Excel, AutoCAD, Microstation, and other modeling tools to perform site civil calculations and designs 
  • Work closely with Project Managers
  • Inform Project Manager(s) of progress on assigned projects and request work or additional resources when needed 
  • Recommend design changes requiring sound judgment and discretion
  • Research and implement regulatory requirements and design standards
  • Review drawings for completeness
  • Analyze sketches, notes and other input material to determine and plan the best approach to develop designs with minimal supervision
  • Some travel may be required, including international
  • BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited Civil Engineering program
  • More than 5 years of experience in the Civil Engineering field
  • Licensed Professional Engineer or ability to obtain within 12 months of employment
  • Basic knowledge in the use of CADD tools, such as Microstation and/or AutoCAD, Inroads, GeoPak or Civil 3D
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Site Civil Design experience, such as performing stormwater design calculations, roadway and pavement design, grading and drainage design, erosion and sedimentation control design, and stormwater pollution prevention plan development and calculations

Ideally, you'll also have: 

  • PE registration in Florida
  • Advanced user of Bentley InRoads/OpenRoads, or AutoCAD Civil 3D
