Civil Engineer Ii

Performs intermediate-level professional engineering in the investigation, design, inspection, operation or construction of streets, alleys, sewers, bridges, and other Public Works projects. Prepares plans, specifications, cost estimates, contracts, and reports. Performs related work as assigned.
This Civil Engineer position is in the Traffic Engineering Division. The primary focus will be the design of signing, pavement markings, and related geometrics for transportation-related construction projects. The position will also help in other areas of traffic engineering design, analysis, and inquiries from the public. The position is based out of the City Hall Annex Building, 25 West 4th Street in downtown Saint Paul, with flexibility for remote work. Occasional evening meetings required.
Provides assistance to project engineers in design, analysis, drafting, and inspection with increasing level of responsibility
Assists with project management via estimating, budgeting, and scheduling
Reviews and coordinates on external projects
Interacts with public regularly regarding projects and general inquiries
