DESCRIPTION
Michael Baker is actively seeking a Civil Designer to join our Phoenix, AZ office as part of the civil team. The Designer will work with our engineering team to develop Site development plans, roadway and various design plans, Civil Plans, conduct quantity take-offs, generate cost estimates, and assist production staff.

COMPENSATION
The salary range for this position is $72,000-$108,000. This will be dependent on the experience and expertise of the incoming candidate.

DESCRIPTION
Michael Baker is actively seeking a Civil Designer to join our Phoenix, AZ office as part of the civil team. The Designer will work with our engineering team to develop Site development plans, roadway and various design plans, Civil Plans, conduct quantity take-offs, generate cost estimates, and assist production staff.
- Utilize CADD (OpenRoads) to prepare engineering drawings.
- Work with our engineering teams in developing preliminary and final design plans and details
- Calculate quantity take-off calculations and develop cost estimates
- Participate in design reviews to evaluate design concepts and make recommendations
- Producing documents with MS Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years' experience in CAD production in support of transportation projects.
- Associate Degree preferred
- General knowledge of engineering principles
- Proficiency in MicroStation/OpenRoads required
- Basic knowledge of 3D modeling a plus
- Critical thinking skills necessary with the ability to plan and conceptualize
- Capable of recognizing conflicts and discrepancies with strong attention to detail
- Work well in team environment and collaborate with other designers and engineers
- Possess organizational skills to successfully work on several projects with similar timelines
