- Assisting with Circulation services and procedures:
- Checking out books, reserve textbooks, and laptops.
- Processing the return of all SSC and non-SSC items.
- Monitoring study room usage.
- Answering department phone calls and emails.
- Taking inventory of office items.
- Assisting with library upkeep (e.g. cleaning floors, tables, study rooms, computers).
- Assisting with departmental projects.
- Maintaining library collections:
- Shelf reading the first floor collections (Reference/Juvenile) and second floor collection (Circulating), as well as the media center collection, as a part of collections upkeep.
- Monitoring second floor activity.
Qualifications
- Must have current year FAFSA completed
- Must be Federal Work Study Eligible
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- Must be currently enrolled at South Suburban College
- Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours
- Must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress
- Must be pursuing an approved educational degree or certificate
- Evening Availability preferred
- Possess strong communication skills
- Organized, punctual and reliable
