We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented part-time Food Service Assistant/Teacher Assistant at The Goddard School of Deerfield. As a Food Service Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting all aspects of food management within our center. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and a keen attention to detail. While a current food sanitation/food managers certificate is preferred, it is not required.
The working hours for this position are Monday to Friday, between 7:30 am and 5:30 pm, totaling 20-25 hours per week. Please note that scheduled hours may vary slightly based on the needs of the school.

- Reheating and portioning meals and snacks according to USDA nutritional guidelines for children.
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization of prep table, floors, fridge, and pantry.
- Dishwashing and following a 3-step sanitizing system.
- Preparation of sanitizing bottles for classrooms.
- Managing inventory as needed.
- Assisting in other areas as assigned by management.

An offer of employment is contingent upon meeting the following criteria:
- A current physical examination, including a tuberculin test.
- An approved criminal record check as mandated by state regulations.
- High school diploma required.
- Associate or Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with child handling, safety, and potential emergencies.
- Understanding and adherence to the school's Food Service policies and employment guidelines.
- Effective communication skills with school personnel, children, and parents alike.
