Job Title: Child Nutrition Café Supervisor - Elementary
Reports to:Child Nutrition Area Manager
Dept/School:Child Nutrition Program (CNP) / Elementary Campus to be Assigned
Work Year: 184 days
Base Salary: $24,400 Actual salary will be calculated based on experience.
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Oversee all aspects of the campus level food service operations and ensure that all departmental policies and procedures are being followed. Ensure all operations follow federal, state, and local guidelines for food handling.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma or GED
Current ServSafe Manager Certification or approved alternative
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of methods, materials, equipment, and appliances used in food preparation
Knowledge of food and workplace safety
Ability to manage personnel
Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to safely operate commercial foodservice equipment
Basic computer skills including Microsoft applications, Google applications, food service computer applications, e-mail, and general computer software proficiency
Experience:
1 year experience in a leadership role in a school district Child Nutrition Program
Previous customer service experience
Successful demonstration of Child Nutrition production tasks
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Develop work schedules and monitor and assist food service workers to ensure completion of work assignments according to campus' assigned breakfast and lunch schedule.
Ensure all foods are served according to menu specifications defined by departmental, TDA, and USDA guidelines.
Supervise and train employees while modeling internal and external customer service.
Document and resolve personnel issues.
Operate to meet all financial targets established by Child Nutrition Programs including food cost, non-food cost, revenue, and labor targets.
Ensure that all safety and sanitation trainings are conducted and guidelines are being followed according to the Standard Operating Procedures of Child Nutrition Programs as well as the Local Regulatory Authority (Health Department).
Manage food and non-food inventory levels through forecasting, ordering and conducting regular physical inventory.
Compile, maintain and file all reports, records and other documents in accordance with policies and procedures of Child Nutrition Programs, TDA and USDA. This includes time and attendance, professional learning, edit checks, production records, HACCP and any other reports required as outlined in the Cafe Supervisor Manual.
Ensure proper cleaning, maintenance and security of all equipment and facilities.
Communicate professionally and respectfully to fellow FISD team members and customers. Utilize resources for verbal, written and digital communication.
Ensure money handling complies with department policies and procedures for staff and themselves.
Comply with and ensure employees are following Frisco ISD and the Child Nutrition Programs Employee Handbooks.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Prolonged standing; frequent kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting. Continual walking; grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, reaching/overhead reaching; occasional climbing (step stool/ladder). Frequent moderate lifting and carrying (up to 30 pounds). Work inside in commercial kitchen environment; exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures, extreme humidity, noise, vibration, microwaves, biological hazards (bacteria, mold, fungi), chemical hazards (fumes, vapors, gases), electrical hazards; work with hands in water and detergents; work around machinery with moving parts; work on slippery surfaces. Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress.
Tools/Equipment Used:
Standard large and small kitchen equipment and tools including electric slicer, mixer, pressure steamer, sharp cutting tools, stove, oven, dishwasher, and food/utility cart.
