Position Summary:
The Child Development Specialist is responsible for providing childcare services and childcare development with all dependent children to the women who are receiving treatment for substance abuse disorders. The Child Development Specialist works closely with the treatment services coordinator. The areas served are Lee & Macon Counties.

Primary Responsibilities:

-Provide evidenced-based childcare services to the dependent children of women who are in treatment for a substance abuse disorder

-Provide age-appropriate developmental activities with children

-Referrals to Help Me Grow

-Attend to children by providing personal assistance, medical attention, emotional support, or other personal care to children. This may include, but not limited to feeding, dressing, and overseeing play

-Report observed or unusual behavior of the children to their mother and the clinical staff.

-Maintain all childcare records and a log of all childcare services

-Solve routine problems related to the children who are in care

-Perform other duties as assigned by the treatment services coordinator

Qualifications:
-High school diploma required.

-Bachelor of Science degree in education or social work preferred

-Work experience and undergraduate coursework in early childhood education and certification preferred

Hours: Full-time, Exempt, Monday-Friday 9am-5pm
