The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) provides executive-level leadership to the strategic technological direction of the Association, establishes and executes technology strategy for AAA, Inc.’s office, and leads all aspects of new technology development in accordance with the Association's Strategic Plan and the Digital Development Roadmap. The CTO will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer and will interface with the entire AAA Executive Leadership team, leadership from individual clubs, and any active or potential third (3rd) party vendors.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provides technological expertise and leadership to AAA, Inc. and clubs in the areas of technology planning, development, implementation, information security, telecommunications, network operations, and related technical support.
- Collaboratively develops and implements strategic initiatives and solutions to fulfill the Association's Strategic Plan and Digital Development Roadmap objectives.
- Leads, directs, and controls all phases of the technology project lifecycle, including planning, defining system requirements, budget development, systems design, system controls, analysis testing, implementation, and post-implementation monitoring of system effectiveness.
- Leads strategy for overall technology platform and provides short- and long-range technology planning and assessments to AAA, Inc. and affiliated clubs.
- Leads efforts to build consensus with IT leaders of clubs and business partners regarding strategic and tactical initiatives, the sharing of best practices, and innovation.
- Working with the General Counsel, is an integral part of the incident response team and oversees and facilitates the technology-related contingency and incident response plans.
- Provides technology consulting and coordination efforts to AAA, Inc. and affiliated clubs.
- Formulates and oversees technology-related strategic objectives, including intellectual property (IP) as well as data privacy and security strategies.
- Fosters a departmental culture that facilitates an engaged workforce with opportunities for professional development.
- Establish departmental standards, practices, and performance goals in alignment with the Association's Strategic Plan to ensure work is completed on time, within budget, and at the agreed-upon quality.
- Plans and manages Association and AAA, Inc. voice and data communications networks.
- Manages technical specialty areas such as computer operations, the network configuration of the AAA, Inc. offices, including internet and sponsored club communication networks, hardware and software maintenance contracts, compliance, project administration center, help desk function, and budget administration.

Education, Experience, andCertifications:
- Master’s degree in computer science or equivalent field of specialization and Ten (10) years of demonstrated leadership in the field of Information Technology; or Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent field of specialization and Fifteen (15) years of demonstrated leadership in the field of Information Technology.
- Proven ability with at least five (5) years of experience developing, communicating, and implementing strategic plans.

Experience

Education
Required- Bachelors or better in Computer Science or related field
