This position will remain open until filled
This position is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the business operations of the Agency.
Directing through subordinate program managers centralized financial and business management functions to include personnel, accounting, budgeting, purchasing, and information technologies.
This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.
• Directs and coordinates the total administrative service functions for the Agency; Personnel, electronic data processing, budgetary, fiscal, purchasing printing, planning, building maintenance, and related services
• Confers with program heads, members of professional staff, and officials concerning the administrative services needs and requirements of the Agency in regard to policies, rules, and regulations
• Develop agency policies and regulations concerning administrative services
• Directs management and other studies and surveys for the purpose of improving administrative methods and practices; develops and writes reports
• Supervises subordinate staff
Knowledge:
• Administration with special reference to planning, organizing, and directing a comprehensive services program, including personnel, budgetary, fiscal, electronic data processing, purchasing, State Board mandates, records retention, and information technologies
Skills:
• Effectively develop and direct centralized administrative services for the Agency and resolve complex problems in the area of assignment to establish and maintain effective relationships
Abilities:
• Exercise effective administrative and technical supervision over professional staff
• Analytical ability; judgment; initiate and maintain important personal contacts; speak and write effectively
• 5 years of managerial experience in one of the functions related to the duties of this class
• A Master's degree in business or public administration from an accredited college or university may substitute for one year of the required experience
• Must have or be able to obtain an Arizona State-issued driver's license
• Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver's license records checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete any driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.11)
• This position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job to conduct State business, then the following requirements apply: Driver’s License Requirements.
