Job Summary:
The State Procurement Office (SPO) is seeking a seasoned and visionary Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) to lead the Department of Economic Security (DES) procurement division. This pivotal role is responsible for managing all procurement activities, including purchasing and solicitations, to promote the safety, well-being, and self-sufficiency of Arizonans. The CPO will oversee senior managers and experienced procurement professionals, drive organizational capacity building, and engage in strategic planning. Serving as the procurement subject matter expert, the CPO will advise the department's executive leadership, aligning procurement decisions with strategic objectives. Job Duties:
- Act as agency Chief Procurement Officer to ensure procurement activities are conducted in an ethical manner
with a high level of integrity, while also ensuring compliance to the Arizona Procurement Code - Oversee the complex and high visibility procurement operations and services for the Department
- Establish and enforce applicable agency procurement policies and procedures
- Issue formal decisions in protests and contracts claims
- Represent department at formal procurement related hearings (as authorized by applicable department legal
personnel) - Train and instruct agency and procurement leadership on matters regarding procurement
- Establish, monitor, and report key performance indicators

Selective Preference(s):
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in supply chain management, business, or other closely related field Public procurement experience
