This is a full time position that is responsible for the leadership and management of the Aviation Department, flight schedules, and records to maintain compliance. Coordinating and supervising safe and efficient operations as well as flying company-owned aircrafts transporting company officials, employees, associates, and/or customers. Responsibilities
This position is responsible for:
- Representing the company on an executive level when dealing with business associates, officials, and customers.
- Assigning aircrew and aircraft for trips and determining pilot work schedules.
- Assisting scheduler and other company employees, customers (company passengers), vendors, regulatory agency personnel, and guests of the company.
- Coordinating training, aircraft maintenance, flight schedule, and aircrew time off.
- Coordinating aircraft maintenance and inspections with Director of Maintenance.
- Conducting pilot training including, safety meetings, systems and regulations review, and inflight observation.
- Keeping records and submit reports as required by company policies and regulatory agencies.
- Reviewing and approving (if appropriate) vendor invoices and expense accounts.
- Ensuring applicable regulations, Standard Operating Procedures, and safe, prudent operations are being followed.
- Performing preflight preparations as required in the appropriate FAR's (Federal Aviation Regulations), checklists, and prudent Standard Operating Procedures.
- Evaluating weather, load, fuel, and other pertinent factors; and plans accordingly.
- Ensuring air crafts are stocked before flights (i.e. coffee, ice, snacks).
- Conducting flight to destination(s) adhering to FAR's, checklists, flight plan(s), prudent Standard Operating Procedures, and company policy.
- Assisting passengers with baggage and ground transportation at destination.
- Properly securing aircraft after flight.
- Logging information such as flight time, passenger manifest, performance data, etc.
- Troubleshooting (if appropriate) and recording maintenance discrepancies.
- Adhering to all applicable safety regulations.
- Performing paper work, revisions, etc. as required.
- Operating company vehicles and equipment as required.
- Assisting with cleaning, flight line duties, and building care as required.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum requirements include:
- A high school diploma and/or equivalent education; five (5) years of supervisory/leadership experience; with minimum Flight experience required:
- TOTAL TIME: 5000
- PILOT IN COMMAND: 4000
- MULTI ENGINE: 2500
- INSTRUMENT: 500
- Experience in single pilot all weather flying in multiengine aircraft and low-level single engine aerial survey.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports, and letters as necessary.
- Ability to apply common sense, technical knowledge and experience to carry out (and give) instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to listen, and give guidance and counselling as necessary.
- Ability to make independent decisions under pressure.
- Ability to effectively present information to supervisor or top management.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Commercial ASEL, AMEL with instrument rating.
- Minimum Second Class Medical.
- Possession of a current 2nd class medical certificate.
- Flight Instructor and Commercial Helicopter Certificates desired.
- English language fluency, verbal and written.
- Acceptable results of a pre-employment background check and drug/alcohol test.
