Chief Marketing Officer

dineoutwith.us is the world’s first true social dining platform. Built around the model of ‘a dinner party in a restaurant’, our mission is to create an “experience dining” movement in which people are drawn together to have amazing meals in great restaurants, supported by technology that removes the roadblocks to trying to organize group dinners at restaurants.

We’re looking for a kick-ass marketer with start-up experience who understands launch & scaling dynamics, thrives in a high-performing, results-oriented culture and has been dying to join a team that is passionate about creating a world-class company.

Our ideal colleague will be able to create and drive data-driven social and digital marketing initiatives to support our ongoing 3-stage market-entry strategy (beta, soft, hard launch) through a mix of social media, public relations, and earned & paid media.

Position is virtual to start; . While we are primarily virtual, we may choose to transition to a more traditional start-up model when the time comes.

Company is currently pre-funding; short-term compensation will be heavily weighted towards equity. The less cash we have to spend on executives, the more we’ll have to invest in growing our user-base. Post-funding salary commensurate with experience. Requirements:

● A track-record of success in start-ups during both both 1) hands-on (resource-constrained) and 2) post-funding (grow hard and fast through direct hires and agency contracts) environments

● Demonstrated experience in collaborating to develop AND execute an online and off-line scaling strategy

● Command of market research and marketing analytics

● Solid working knowledge and a demonstrated track record in using marketing automation platforms to their full capabilities

● Solid leadership skills in the context of high-performing, highly-collaborative teams

● Demonstrated success in executing marketing initiatives in organic and earned and paid media

● Comfort with multitasking, and strong organizational and prioritization abilities

● Rock-solid, no bullshit, “my-word-is-my-bond” reliability

● Excellent written and verbal communication skills

● Solid skills in all classes of relevant productivity and marketing s/w

● Broad based education with an emphasis on independent, analytic thinking, and cultural literacy from a highly-competitive college. The founders strongly believe that a liberal arts undergraduate education forms the best basis for reasoning, values, and thoughtful action, and have a bias for people who feel the same way.

● MBA or equivalent analytics-focused post-graduate work strongly preferred

Phase I - Hit the Ground Running

● Help round out messaging and social footprint to support ongoing partner acquisition campaign

● Hone, finalize, & execute B2B market entry strategy working with internal and external team

● Scale successful member acquisition / consumer leadgen program

● Manage targeted brand awareness campaigns including PR, collaborative partnerships, digital, and social media

● Use data to refine and hone marketing tactics

● Help establish meaningful KPIs for operational goals and fundraising messaging

● Oversee market-facing communications including drip campaigns, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram channels (both organic and paid)

● Internalize the company’s unique brand identity and serve as its steward, ensuring consistency across product development/refinement and all communications

● Lead in defining messaging and help create marketing communications materials to support positioning

● Perform key analytical assessments of our digital strategy, with particular focus on conversion rates and member acquisition

● Top to bottom funnel B2C lead generation using drip campaigns

Phase II - As We Scale

● Utilize market research and analytic tools to identify and understand key customer segments

● Initiate and coordinate all relevant marketing initiatives (promotional campaigns, PR, etc.) across various channels (digital, print, etc.)

● Develop and maintain relevant strategic partnerships

● Collaborate with other team members to manage brand and coordinate actions with key stakeholders

● Other projects and duties, as appropriate
