Chief Inspector
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Part 145 Repair Station Chief Inspector to lead our quality control and compliance efforts. The Chief Inspector will play a critical role in ensuring all maintenance, inspection, repair, and overhaul activities adhere to applicable regulations and industry standards. This role demands strong technical knowledge, leadership skills, and a commitment to safety and quality. It will be highly focused in maintaining the Quality Manual, Training Manual, and records of all Repair Station personnel. Additionally, the Chief Inspector will be responsible for all return to service actions in the Repair Station as delegated by the Accountable Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to all applicable Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, manufacturer's guidelines, and industry standards in all repair and maintenance activities.
Quality Assurance: Establish and maintain a comprehensive quality control program, including conducting inspections, audits, and evaluations of all maintenance, repair, and overhaul work.
Supervision: Manage a team of inspectors and quality control personnel, providing guidance, training, and mentorship to ensure a consistent and high standard of work.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records and documentation related to inspections, maintenance, and repair work. Ensure all required forms and reports are completed accurately and on time.
Aircraft Inspections: Perform or oversee pre-flight, post-maintenance, and in-process inspections of aircraft and components. Identify and report any discrepancies or non-compliance issues.
Defect Resolution: Collaborate with maintenance personnel to address and rectify any identified defects or discrepancies, ensuring that repairs and maintenance are completed to the required standards.
Auditing: Conduct internal and external audits to assess compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry best practices.
Safety Culture: Promote and maintain a strong safety culture throughout the organization, encouraging a proactive approach to safety and hazard identification.
Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and contribute to the development of corrective actions and process enhancements to improve efficiency and safety.
Qualifications:
FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic Certificate required.
FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) or eligibility for IA.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in aviation maintenance and quality control.
In-depth knowledge of FAA regulations, Part 145 requirements, and relevant industry standards.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Proficient in the use of inspection tools and equipment.
