One of Central Oregon’s fastest growing healthcare organizations is seeking an experienced CFO to lead their team!
What You Get to Do!
Primary duties include providing overall financial leadership to 300+ staff and managing an annual budget of $30 million. Provides hands-on financial leader with responsibility for broad oversight and protection of the assets of the organization. Works closely with the Executive Director and Senior Management team to collaboratively develop and implement systems and organizational structure to support the overall business strategic plan. Assures the financial viability of the organization through proactive analysis and sound administration of policies and procedures. Works with the Executive team to meet the demands of the ever-changing landscape of state, federal, grants and contracts derived from over 35 funding sources.
Finance
- Provide key leadership and directions for all strategic and day-to-day issues related to finance including fund accounting, budgeting, reporting, analysis, audits & tax matters
- Prepare fiscal records, defines Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and interprets results; works closely with senior management and the Board of Directors
- Responsible for preparation and tracking of a complicated annual budget process
- Provide financial guidance to senior management on budgetary controls, costs and other special assignments
- Ensure compliance with all funder/regulatory requirements
- Assure proper grant reporting and invoicing
- Prepare and oversees audit and tax matters
- Supervise the accounting function, all banking relationships and reconcile accounts
- Oversee occupancy and lease negotiations
- Develop and oversees an environment of strong internal controls across the organization
- Coordinates and directs the preparation of the annual budget, forecast and planning process for the organization. Ensures the highest possible degree of accuracy of budgets, forecasts, estimates, revenue and expense recognition and financial reporting.
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting and management records
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
- Manage and ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements
- Manage all general ledger accounting and preparation of all adjusting journal entries
- Develop and documents business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Prepare monthly, departmental, and consolidated financial statements
- Direct all banking relationships, reconcile accounts
Accounting - Manage the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing and billing, fixed assets records.
- Preparation of 1099’s
- Other tasks as necessary or required
- Human Resources/Payroll:
- Technical Advisor for monthly payroll
- Administer the 403B pension plan
- Preparation of all related payroll journal entries.
- Compliance Officer
- Grant/Contract
- Compile transactions for grants and contracts
- Administer deferred liability for grant and contracts
- Assure proper grant reporting
- Assure Compliance with all internal policies and regulations for state, federal grants and contracts
What You Will Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration required; MBA preferred
- CPA strongly preferred
- Professional accounting experience including financial statement preparation and oversight of external audits with a multi-million-dollar organization required
- Technical knowledge of fund accounting and the management of state, federal and foundation nonprofit grants and contracts
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong technical skills regarding budget preparation, audit, legal compliance, financial analysis and payroll
- Strong computer skills including advanced experience in QuickBooks, Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
- Ability to work independently and ability to build a high-performing team
- Must have the ability to get along with co-workers
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and ability to make things happen in a complex environment
- Ability to train, develop and mentor senior staff and others as needed
