Camelot Community Care, a multi-state Non-Profit child welfare and behavioral health organization is seeking an experienced organizational leader to serve as Chief Financial Officer. The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key member of the Executive Management team and will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The CFO will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing, and controlling all financial-related activities of the organization in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and in accordance with financial management techniques and practices appropriate within the non-profit environment. In addition, the CFO will play a critical role in collaborating with leadership and the Board in strategic decision-making and operations. This position will work from our corporate office located in Pinellas County, Florida.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyzes financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and prepares Balance Sheets, Statements of Activities, and other reports to summarize and interpret current and projected company financial position.
- Prepares financial reports for management and the Board of Directors.
- Conducts, studies, and submits recommendations for improving the company’s financial operations.
- Supervises and assures accurate payroll processing, invoice processing, purchasing, and general ledger management.
- Leads efforts to control expenses and ensure the most effective and efficient use of company capital.
- Develop and maintain the annual budget and present metrics internally and externally.
- Manages treasury functions to assure sufficient cash flow for on-going operations.
- Participates in maximizing all funding sources in support of Camelot’s goals.
- Participates in key decisions as a member of the executive management team.
- Participates in strategic planning as a member of the executive management team.
- Coordinates annual audit activities.
- Serve as a business partner to the president related to the organization’s financial, budgeting, and administrative processes—including HR, IT, and Development—with an eye to continuously developing and improving systems.
- Prepares fiscal and contractual reports for funders and other regulatory bodies.
The ideal candidate will bring significant nonprofit finance leadership experience and a demonstrated record of managing and enhancing the administration of a high-performing organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA or CPA strongly preferred.
- At least 10 years of progressively responsible experience in financial management, with at least 5 years in a nonprofit organization.
- Proven track record of successful financial management, including experience developing and implementing financial strategies, managing budgets, and overseeing financial reporting and compliance.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with experience building and leading high-performing teams.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
