Chief Financial Officer

POSITION PURPOSE

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will provide strategic financial leadership across Big Brothers Big Sisters Miami, ensuring proper financial accounting, internal controls. Reporting to the COO, and as a member of the Senior Leadership team, the CFO will support the Board of Directors through various committees, including Finance, Investment, and Audit. The CFO must provide sound financial organizational advice and direction to the organizational leadership.

Core Responsibilities:

• Analyze long-range financials to project impact on future growth related to fundraising, compensation, investments, and other factors.
• Partner with CEO and COO to develop monthly summary reporting, management discussion analysis and KPIs.
• Facilitate and lead the creation of the annual budget, including capital projects and investments, overseeing monthly fiscal close and reporting process, restricted fund balances and releases, and annual audit and 990 process, as well as managing the relationship with outside Auditing firm.
• Provide monthly cash flow projections and financial reports, including actual to budget and forecast, along with KPIs, ROIs on investments, regularly to the Board of Directors in partnership with the Treasurer, and monitor performance against budgets, serving as advisor to the Board.
• Coordinate with the CEO, COO, Treasurer and the Finance Committee the management of agency investments per investment policies and recommend changes to portfolio as appropriate.
• Ensure that all financial activities are in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), internal policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting to all funding sources, including grants from private and public sources.
• Identify ways to improve efficiency in business processes and implement new processes.
• Display a depth of knowledge in Enterprise Risk Management by understanding developments in relevant regulatory guidance, technologies, and innovations that can support the organization’s future growth.
• Identify and address financial risks and opportunities for the organization, ensuring the proper controls are in place to minimize risk.
• Embrace other financial and operational administration responsibilities, as needed.

Education and/or Credentialing Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Degree in Finance or Accounting, Master’s Degree preferred

• CPA and/or MBA preferred

Compensation:

The Chief Financial Officer position is a full-time exempt position. This position is supervised by the Chief Operating Officer. The target salary for this position is between $130,000-160,000.00 based on experience. BBBS of Miami positions involve regular computer usage.
