Position Description
Company Overview. Integrated Lipid Biofuels LLC is a cutting-edge small industrial biotechnology company dedicated to developing sustainable and innovative solutions to address global challenges. With a focus on leveraging the power of biology for industrial processes, the mission of the company is to enable the cost-effective production of bio-based products through innovation in processing technologies and the efficient utilization of biomass resources. The target products of interest include specialty ingredients for nutraceuticals and personal care products, renewable chemicals, and biofuels. ILB is a start-up company spun off from Washington State University’s research program. ILB has been successful in winning multiple SBIR grants from federal agencies.
Position: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Location: Spokane, WA, USA
Position Summary:
The CEO will provide visionary leadership and direction to ensure that the company achieves its strategic objectives and is positioned for sustained growth and success. The CEO is responsible for the overall operations, strategy, and fiscal integrity of the company.
Key Responsibilities-Strategic Leadership
Develop and drive the company's long-term strategy with a clear vision of the future of industrial biotechnology. Executive leadership team to establish both short-term and long-term goals, plans, and policies.
Key Responsibilities-Operations Management
Ensure efficient and effective operations across all functions, including R&D, sales, marketing, and technology scale-up.
Oversee key projects and business initiatives, ensuring they align with company objectives and deliver value.
Key Responsibilities-Financial Management
Oversee the company's fiscal activities, including budgeting, reporting, and auditing.
Work with financial stakeholders, including investors and partners, raising money to ensure capital requirements are met.
Key Responsibilities-Team Leadership & development
Build teams, foster a company culture that promotes ethical practices, encourages innovation, and values diversity and inclusion.
Mentor and guide the leadership team and staff, ensuring ongoing development and achieving of operational targets.
Key Responsibilities-Stakeholder Relations
Serve as the primary spokesperson for the company, building networks, representing its interests to partners, stakeholders, the media, and the general public.
Maintain strong relationships with key partners, customers, industry associations, and other relevant stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities-Innovation & Growth
Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Drive business expansion opportunities, including M&As, partnerships, and other growth initiatives.
Serve as Principal Investigator in SBIR proposal applications.
Key Responsibilities-Regulatory & Compliance
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and laws.
Engage with relevant regulatory bodies and industry associations to ensure the company's voice is heard and interests are represented.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 3 years of executive leadership experience in leading research and development teams and technology commercialization, with a proven track record in biotechnology or a related industry.
Advanced degree in Biotechnology, Business Administration, Science or enginerring.
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement successful strategic plans.
Demonstrated ability in marketing, sales, and business development.
Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Proven ability to lead and develop high-performance teams.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
Passionate about sustainability and the potential of biotechnology to address global challenges.
