Job Title: Chief EngineerReports to: Director of Engineering
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Assumes in the absence of the Director of Engineering, all responsibilities of same.
DUTIES:
- Oversees the overall repairs and maintenance jobs performed in all Club Operations areas to include hotel room, F & B outlets and all public spaces.
- Implements training procedures.
- Compiles data to be used on scheduling maintenance and engineering special projects.
- Assists in the planning of policies, standards and objectives that will provide the institution with an effective maintenance service.
- Ensures necessary repairs are completed in a timely fashion.
- Assists wit the development and implementation of a preventative maintenance program in conjunction with the Director of Engineering.
- Coordinates with the Director of Engineering and the Director of Housekeeping the completion and approval for sale of "out of order rooms".
- Assists in the completion of inventories. Relates to the Director of Engineering for consideration of purchasing
- Assists wit the coordination mad supervision of services provided by outside contractors.
- Makes recommendations when major problems arise or special projects need to be performed.
- Submits completed work orders for posting of monthly maintenance service charges to Accounting Department.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all Fisher Island Standards (i.e. grooming, conduct, policies and procedures.)
Equivalent Educational Level Required: High School Diploma and EPA Air Conditioning Certification.
Experience Required: Two (2) years in related field.
Knowledge Required: Familiarity of basic maintenance practices. Knowledge of the equipment used in the department. Capable of working under pressure. Ability to make decisions and use common sense. Ability to cover any shift, any day, including holidays. Skills Required: Familiarity of basic operational procedures of electrical, painting, plumbing mad air conditioning functions. Familiarity of radio communications, use of key machine and calculator.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Inside/outside office and equipment room environment.
