Job description

Our Local Programs and Regulatory Compliance team is responsible for ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations in the countries where we operate.

We are seeking an experienced derivatives compliance professional to join our futures commission merchant (FCM) in order to support the regulated derivatives business of Crypto.com. This role will require you to advance the compliance program of the FCM by supporting the completion of the licensing process, and implement the compliance program of the FCM, which will offer margined derivative products. After launch, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day compliance program of the FCM business.
The successful candidate will have derivatives and financial markets experience, including knowledge related to the operation and compliance program of an FCM, including rules and procedures related to FCM connectivity to exchanges and clearinghouses regulated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). Knowledge of the rules of the National Futures Association (NFA) and the CFTC relevant to an FCM are required. This role presents a unique opportunity to help support a new business line as part of the overall Crypto.com enterprise.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the compliance program of the FCM to provide customers with access to cleared derivatives products.
  • Work closely with the business, operations, onboarding (KYC/AML/BSA), technology, risk, and legal team in order to support the completion of the licensing process and the launch of the FCM.
  • Oversee the FCMs compliance with CFTC and NFA regulatory requirements.
  • Support the product roadmap related to the short-term and long-term objectives of the business enterprise.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships and be the point of contact for key compliance program partners, vendors and stakeholders.
  • Lead communications with industry regulatory bodies.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a compliance position in the regulated derivatives industry.
  • Experience in developing a compliance program and its implementation.
  • Familiarity with diverse business functions such as operations, technology, risk, marketing, sales, finance, etc.
  • In-depth knowledge of the regulated derivatives markets including futures, forex, swaps and options and the cross-border offering of such products from the US.
  • Knowledge or desire to gain in depth knowledge of the cryptocurrency and digital asset markets.
  • Strong reputation and connections with industry compliance professionals that support potential customers of the FCM, including financial institutions, swap dealers, proprietary trading firms, hedge funds, and cryptocurrency miners and market participants.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with outstanding organizational, problem solving and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and public speaking skills.
